Questions and Concerns

Ethical decision-making is a daily reality for organizations, not something that takes place only when a crisis hits.  The CCIC Code of Ethics and Operational Standards helps to guide decision-making but does not prescribe answers.  Staff and volunteers of CCIC members are encouraged to raise questions about ethical practice with one another and to regularly dialogue on ethical dilemmas.  To support such organizational questioning and dialogue, in the past, CCIC had an Ethics Review Committee that responded to many questions from members.  Your question may have already been asked and answered, so review the Frequently Asked Questions below to see what explanations and guidance have already been provided.

In addition, any person or organization (i.e. a member of the public, someone from a non-member organization, or an individual within a member organization speaking on behalf of the organization or on her/his own behalf) may flag a situation of potential non-compliance with the Code of Ethics and Operational Standards by a CCIC member.  The CCIC Membership Committee will review and respond to such registrations of concern.
