Call for Nominations - Annual General Meeting 2013

As of May 1999, the Board of Directors of CCIC is comprised of 14 members elected for two-year terms. Member organizations may nominate candidates from their own organization or from another member organization with that organization’s official consent.

The Chair and the Executive Committee members are elected by the Board of Directors at their first meeting following the Annual General Meeting.

To be eligible to participate (and to vote) at the AGM, member organizations are required to pay their membership fees for 2013-2014 or to remit a pledge to CCIC prior to the Annual General Meeting. Click here to download the Pledge form

Board of Directors

The breakdown by category of the Board of Directors is as follows:

Board members are elected by member organizations according to the above formula. Provincial/Regional Councils Board members are selected by consensus and ratified by the CCIC membership at the Annual General Meeting.

Elections - 2013 AGM
For the 2013 AGM elections, there are four (4) vacancies in Category A, two (2) vacancies in Category B/C and 1 (1) vacancy in Category D:
4 Category "A"
2 Category "B" and "C"
1 Provincial/Regional Councils "D"

When nominating candidates, please be mindful of the following:

  1. CCIC’s policy to reflect gender, visible minorities, linguistic and geographic balance in its decision-making structures
  2. nominees with skill base adequate for work at a national level
  3. knowledge and experience of policy governance process
  4. knowledge and/or experience of community transformation
  5. knowledge and/or experience of financial diversification
  6. both volunteer and staff representation on the Board is important

The deadline for receiving nominations is 12:00 (noon) on May 22, 2013.
In addition to a completed nominations form, CCIC must receive a copy of the candidate’s bio/resume (in any of the two official languages). However, for all nominations sent to CCIC after May 10th, 2013, the nominating organization must provide the bio/resume in both English and French to expedite processing.

NOTE: All interested in joining the Board of Directors, please note that if you are elected or ratified at the 2013 AGM you must plan to remain at the venue of the Annual Forum and AGM for the first meeting of the new Board of Directors from 4:30 to 5:30 pm on Friday, May 24th, 2013.
