2004 Recipient

Betty Plewes Fund: The first recipient of the Betty Plewes Fund, named after past CCIC President and CEO Betty Plewes, was announced at CCIC's 2004 AGM. The award recognises the work of an African organization engaged in research and policy development on issues of priority to women. The recipient of the $15,000 award was the Gender Center for Research and Training in Sudan nominated by Inter Pares. The members of the Betty Plewes Fund jury were Denis Tougas of l'Entraide missionnaire, Jean Pierre-Massé of Cardinal Léger et ses œuvres, Gerry Barr, CCIC's President-CEO and Betty Plewes.
