RE: Canadian Embassy in Bogotá Targeted

Canada, last week, concluded a "free" trade agreement with Colombia, a government that has one of the worst human rights records in the hemisphere. If we needed any more proof of the lack of human rights, and the power of the paramilitaries in Colombia we got it with the news of the threats this week to Canada's embassy in Bogotá. Our embassy is playing an important role in granting asylum to those threatened by violence. This diplomatic work is what Canada must prioritize. It's not the time for a trade deal with Colombia. When will the Harper government catch on?
