A 42 years old partnership came to an end abruptly this June when the government of Saskatchewan decided, as part of its austerity budget, not to renew the Matching Grants in Aid Program (MGAP), which was managed by SCIC.

Canada to host next replenishment of Global Fund

At a meeting on international development, hosted by the Hon. Justin Trudeau, Minister of International Development Marie-Claude Bibeau and around 100 civil society representatives including CCIC, the Prime Minister announced that Canada would be pledging $785 million to the Global Fund for HIV AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, for the 2017 to 2019 period – an increase of 20 percent relative to the previous three year pledge.
