Old wine or new bottled in the G20?
Prospects for a world leaders’ forum that promotes global equity and democratic governance

When G20 leaders announced, following their 2009 Pittsburgh Summit, that the G20 forum would become their “premier forum” for international economic cooperation it was an important indicator of how global power relations are changing. What is not yet clear is whether the rise of the G20 will, in fact, bring needed changes to how decisions are made by world leaders, or what those decisions will be.
